When I fainted earlier this year. It was a very hot day and I hadn't eaten properly before going out. While my friend and I were crossing the street, I stopped in the median to collect myself when I started feeling light-headed. And then I remembered hearing my friend saying to a passerby, "Could you help me? My friend fainted." It took me a moment or two before I realized she was talking about me. I was the friend who had fainted! And then I noticed my purse lying on the ground.
Thankfully, I hadn't fallen completely down. When I'd stopped in the median, I held onto the guardrail. My arm was still wrapped around it when I regained consciousness.
This is the second time I've fainted (and in public!) but both times, I've marvelled at how peaceful it is. It is the ultimate in letting go. One minute your'e there in your body ... and then you're not. There's no pain, there's no worry.

For some reason, my go-to answer is Spain. I've never gone, and I don't speak Spanish, but there you go. Maybe it's because Spanish was the first foreign language I heard as kid (we lived in Cuba for a couple years) combined with the allure of Europe. But I would love to visit one day. In fact, I often joke about running away to Spain. And come to think of it, my icon is a picture of my Custo Barcelona skirt. Hmmm ...
